Apply now - Diageo Learning for Life Programme

The Local Enterprise Office, Kildare County Council, is working with Diageo on the delivery of its 3-week Learning for Life Programme for individuals interested in a career in the Hospitality Sector….   Diageo will also provide one week’s work experience in the Hospitality Sector!

The course commences on 4th November 2024 in the Clanard Hotel in Athy, Co Kildare. Included in the programme is a day trip to Dublin to visit the Guinness Storehouse and Roe & Co Distillery, as well as a local field trip, so for example, participants will visit a few visitor attractions around Kildare to experience and understand Co Kildare’s significance and tourist offering.

“Learning for Life” is Diageo’s business and hospitality skills programme for individuals seeking employment in the hospitality sector, including people from marginalised backgrounds.  Diageo’s training programme will be interactive and practical and will teach introductory skills in Food and Beverage Service and Hospitality skills.  Part of this gives learners practical training in bar and food service skills.  This programme has helped bring new people into the hospitality industry, building their confidence, enhancing their skills and resources, and ultimately increasing each participant’s employability, improving their livelihood, and helping to support a thriving hospitality sector.

In terms of students,  Diageo are open to applicants from all walks of life.  Students must be over 18, and in receipt of a Social Welfare Payment (enrolling on this training does not affect this DSP payment.)

This programme has a QQI Level 4 Tourism Visitor Care accreditation (awarded by Liberties College, Dublin): For more information, please see the QQI website. https://qsearch.qqi.ie/WebPart/AwardDetails?awardCode=4N0628
